About the Role

At Chuckwagon Bistro, our Station Cooks are culinary technicians—executing elevated plates with precision, pride, and purpose. You’ll be part of a chef-driven team that thrives on discipline, timing, and clean execution. This is not your average line cook position. Every dish that leaves your station will be scrutinized, celebrated, and expected to meet a high standard.

What You’ll Do

Execute dishes to spec and plate with finesse under the direction of the Sous Chef or Executive Chef

Master a specific station (garde manger, sauté, grill, or hot apps), but be flexible to rotate as needed

Handle mise en place, daily prep, and restocking to maintain readiness for every service

Ensure your station is clean, organized, and fully stocked before, during, and after service

Work in sync with expeditors, food runners, and fellow cooks to ensure food flows cleanly from pass to plate

Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards with precision

Communicate clearly with BOH and FOH teams to ensure smooth service

Participate in deep cleaning, breakdown, and side duties as required

Stay calm, collected, and efficient in high-pressure, fast-paced environments

Represent Chuckwagon Bistro values at all times—in the food and in the culture

Requirements

Compensation: $20–$24 per hour (Based on experience & skill level)

Uniform: Chef coat (provided), apron, slip-resistant shoes

Growth Potential: Elevated What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an upscale or fine dining kitchen

  • Proven ability to execute at least one station at a high level (training provided for others)

  • Knife skills, plating fundamentals, and understanding of culinary techniques required

  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and show consistency in execution

  • A desire to grow, improve, and elevate your craft daily

  • Comfortable working 8–12 hour shifts, nights and weekends included

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet in hot, cold, and high-pressure environments

  • Must be punctual, organized, and have a clean appearance
